Garmin has trouble picking up elevation change in such a short workout, so I’m guessing on the ascent. 6 x 10-sec. up and jogged back down (didn’t record the jogs), a little sluggish on a couple of them. The weather was perfect, though, and I wish for the sake of the marathoners they would have gotten this instead.

After volunteering as a Course Marshall at the marathon…I had planned 12-13 mi. but better too little than too much
I could say a lot about my volunteer experience but I’ll just sum it up as awesome! For one thing, because I was on the half marathon course, I got to see Joan Benoit Samuelson cruising in right after the male leaders. Of course, she won the women’s title, finishing in 1:21:27, out in front by 6 minutes. Conditions were horrible as usual or she would have been much faster.
