Easy treadmill run

Not the miles I planned but this has been a good recovery week from the race.

I think consistency is key to improvement. This month’s running was almost identical to last month’s, 158 mi. at an average pace of 10:15 (much faster than November). However, I did more speedwork for the peak race, about 10 mi. more at an average pace of 8:32. My race pace was 8:39 so that’s a pretty good predictor.

Garmin battery was dead or something so I just did the same run as last Thursday.  In other words, because I copied the info from that run, the pace is probably a little off but everything else is right.

I was the only one who showed up to class so we did some good stretches instead of a traditional yoga practice.  The teacher doesn’t really get running but she knows recovery.

Austin 3M Half Marathon

Tough to pace yourself after that long of a wait.  I went out too fast.  See those first 4 miles?  That isn’t the time to try to lock in your dream goal pace, but that’s what I did. 

Other than that I’m very happy with the race, another PR!  Time to update my profile.  I want a 1:50, so I’m exactly halfway there from last year’s time.  I had forgotten the uphill and hopefully won’t make the same mistake next year.  Here are my splits:

I finished 1249 out of 4256 so how about that?  58% Age Grade, too.
